It also seems the front wing changes have worked, the cars seemed to be able to follow closer

One race is hard to judge a season on, but so far so good

Well the first day of practice for the Bahrain GP seems to have gone in
favour of Ferrari, but I wonder how qualifying tomorrow will pan out ?

And it's good to hear that Patrick Head has returned to the Williams F1
albeit on a short term consultancy basis.
I'm sure the team will only benefit from his vast wealth of experience and
guidance - only time will tell !

Typical how I'm away for a GP weekend. Never mind

Patrick Head being back can only be good news. I'm sure he'll be banging some heads together

And what a race that was. Could be an all time classic but certsun people will be devastated at the result. Definitely one to watch the highlights of

Now the highlights have been shown, I can talk a bit more without spoiling it

Just how gutted must Leclerc be? But he seems to have a very mature head on his shoulders. If you didn't know I suspect you'd have expected the four time champion to have convincingly controlled the race until his car failed and the younger driver to have spun his position away. Really think Seb might start to feel a lot of pressure

A lucky win for Hamilton maybe but he was in position to take advantage with Bottas not far behind

A good showing from others in the field, the McLaren looking particularly handy again. Both Renaults failing at the same time was a bit odd, but another couple of engine/electrical issues aren't good news

Yes I felt so sorry for Leclerc, he deserved better but sometimes F1 can be a cruel sport. But his time will come, I'm
sure of it.

And I'm liking the look of Lando Norris in the McLaren ( and he's only 19!)

Both Norris and Albon seem like naturals
It's hard to make a judgement on Russell with the Williams clearly being the worst car on the grid

The Chinese GP is like the Japanese because I value my sleep too much to get up in the middle of the night so it is one where the results of practice, qualifying and the race are already known.

Practice today saw Bottas just ahead of Vettel, with Verstappen not far off despite a mistake on his fastest lap

So far this year it really does look as if the gap has closed, which can only be good for the sport. Let's have a close battle between multiple drivers and teams for each win and ultimately the championship

It does seem that way. Should be the making of a good season. Saying that, the Mercedes have still won both races so far.

It is the 1000th Grand Prix thus weekend which is a very impressive amount.

The BBC seems intent on ruining the fun of watching the the races highlights, announcing the results of practice and this morning the qualifying without giving the "spoiler alert". I have no doubt they will do the same tomorrow morning. It really pees me off!

I find exactly the same problem Maurice !

After the last GP ( and before the highlights were shown) Microsoft News were showing the headline ' Lucky win
for Hamilton! '. It rather takes the shine off watching the highlights for me. BT Sport tend to do the same with
the results for the MotoGP motorcycle racing, which is such a shame.

Race weekends now I tend to squint sideways at the screen when logging on, just so I can't read anything sport
related that I don't want to see !!
