Fireworks

Why on earth does anyone buy fireworks?

They are expensive, noisy, dangerous, scare pets and babies and really not good for conditions such as autism

If you want to celebrate a 400 year old terrorist attempt then go to an organised display

If you don't try it how do you know you don't like it?

Tell me about it. It took my kids ages to go down tonight. If you are going to get fireworks surely you should do it at a reasonable time

Fortunately our youngest slept through them. Our oldest are teenagers so aren't worried by them

Guys, your pain isn't over there will be more tomorrow. I genuinely believe it's time we stopped it and limited it to only licensed professional displays. This government steps into everything else. Making largely unenforceable laws for the "good" of us all. Yet once a year let's us all buy bombs.

Once a year? I live next to a park that is used by the local Indians for wedding ceremonies and they set off fireworks in the afternoons and until 11 pm a few days a week!

Agree with Hovis

Dogging, which harms no one and is enjoyed by many, illegal and actively stamped out

Fireworks which kill, maim and cause distress, perfectly fine to buy from the supermarket with a vague age check

RE: Fireworks

Crazy out there tonight, there's thick smoke hanging around

Reports on the news of firecrews being attacked when they respond to fires too

RE: Fireworks

The irony is fireworks are to celebrate that parliament wasn't blown up. Yet it seems the only way that the annual carnage will be stopped is when one of their members is personally effected. We need to act before that happens. No one needs to be hurt by fireworks.

Until there's a real tragedy nothing will change. The big retailers make too much selling them to allow a ban
